Mr. Heenan, United States Consul at Odessa, telegraphing to the State Department, states that firing ceased soon after the arrival of Admiral Krieger’s squadron, which reached the port at noon to-day. Mr. Heenan adds that the Kniaz Potemkin surrendered immediately without firing a shot.
