1906-11-06 NAVAL AND MILITARY INTELLIGENCE

London Times, 6 November 1906, p. 12: NAVAL AND MILITARY INTELLIGENCE. (Excerpt) The officers of the Russian squadron now in British waters visited Barrow yesterday and inspected the works of Messrs. Vickers, Sons, and Maxim. Their chief interest naturally centred in the visit to the battleship RURIK, which is in the course of construction for the Russian Government. The officers and cadets were taken through the naval construction works. To-day they go to Sheffield to visit Messrs. Vickers’ works there, and to-morrow the squadron leaves for Brest. The squadron returns to the Baltic in April.
