1929-12-28 PROPAGANDA BY RED SAILORS

London Times, 28 December 1929, p. 7: PROPAGANDA BY “RED” SAILORS. (From our own correspondent). Paris, Dec. 27. The Soviet warships Pariskaya Kommuna and Profintern sailed to-day from Brest, where they had been refitting since December 4. In spite of precautions by the French authorities, members of the crews succeeded in distributing printed propaganda among the dockyard “mateys,” who, as the leaflets were written in Russian, did not, however, receive the full enlightenment that the Bolshevists intended.
