1861-06-14 NEWS FROM CRONSTADT

London Times, 14 June 1861, p. 9: NEWS FROM CRONSTADT.

The screw steamer Leopard arrived at Hull on Tuesday from Cronstadt, and her captain reports that the ice at the latter place had all disappeared on the 2d inst. There were not many steamers at Cronstadt; the majority of the vessels there were colliers. Freights were low and difficult to obtain. The Russian Government were fitting out several frigates and line-of-battle ships, one of which appeared in the roads on the 4th inst.
