1910-09-02 RUSSIAN SUBMARINE IN COLLISION

London Times, 2 September 1910, p. 3: RUSSIAN SUBMARINE IN COLLISION. (FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT.) ST. PETERSBURG, SEPT. 1. The Admiralty yacht Neva, while leaving Kronstadt with the Minister of Marine on board, ran into the submarine Kaimak, which was crossing the narrow entrance to the harbour “awash.” The yacht was proceeding at full speed. The men on the bridge of the submarine were knocked overboard, and one was drowned.

The bows of the Kaimak and the paddlewheel of the yacht were damaged. The Minister continued his voyage on board a destroyer, and proceeded to the scene of the naval manoeuvres.
