1911-10-30 THE RUSSIAN NAVY

London Times, 30 October 1911, p. 4: THE RUSSIAN NAVY. A Reuter telegram from St. Petersburg states that, by order of the Tsar, the battleships Empress Maria, Emperor Alexander III., Catherine II., the nine destroyers, and six submarines now under construction have been assigned to the Black Sea Fleet.

Rear-Admiral Prince Lieven has been appointed Chief of the General Staff of the Navy. His predecessor, Vice-Admiral Eberhard, has been appointed Commander of the Black Sea Fleet in the place of Vice-Admiral Bostroem, retired.

The names of the vessels given above are presumably those of the three battleships which are to be built at Nikolaieff
