1906-08-20 EXECUTION OF MUTINEERS

London Times, 20 Augsut 1906, p. 3: EXECUTION OF MUTINEERS. REVAL, AUG. 18.* Seventeen sailors of the Pamyat Azova and an agitator who were arrested in connexion with the recent mutiny have been condemned to death by Court-martial. All the 18 men were executed early this morning.

Twelve other sailors were sentenced to hard labour for periods ranging from six to ten years, 13 to be drafted into disciplinary battalions with temporary imprisonment, and 15 more to disciplinary penalties.

Thirty-four of the accused were acquitted, while three civilians were handed over to the civil Courts.

The Court-martial here to-day sentenced to death ten men found guilty of participation in the recent armed rising. Fifteen were acquitted, and 122 were sentenced to penal servitude.
